Kahukura Rongoa Maori Charitable Trust Estd 2021
In 2014 Christchurch City Council and Mahaanui Kura Taiao Ltd hosted our first dawn planting to celebrate Te Matahi o te Tau and Matariki on the Kaputahi and Puharakeke-nui confluence. Now seven years later Kahukura Rongoa Maori Charitable Trust is established to keep us on purpose for the regeneration of urban tracks of whenua, puna, awa and ngahere (land and waterways) to access mahinga kai and healing.

I nga wa o mua ... in times past, our land and waterways flourished. Tangata Whenua retained a connection with nature and ancestors for a supernatural experience. Knowledge of Rongoa Maori healing was passed one generation to the next. Whanau culture and spirituality was fluid - rich in knowledge and technology.
